Ok, so for some reason I had the Chipmunks theme song stuck in my head. I was singing it, and when I got to the part where they spell out C-H-I-P-M-U-N-K, I slipped up and made a dyslexic error which I sometimes often make. This time, however, I realized that my error spelled CHIMPUNK, which immediately made me think of chimps who were also punks, add the further anagram of Alvin, and the result is what you see above. This being one of my favorite works of late, I felt I had to share, in case anyone still checks this "comic". If you really like it, you can buy the shirt here!

Hey everyone! Remember me? No? Don't blame you. Sorry it's been so long, I just haven't had the time/inspiration to comic. Maybe if I got more fan support, maybe I'd be more into it, but frankly, I feel like there are maybe two people who check me out. No I am not throwing in the towel, just venting. This comic started as a doodle on my large desk calendar at work. The original last panel was "Food Hog" which had a really fat ground hog stuck in a hole trying to eat a cupcake. I thought this one was funnier because it was lamer.

Apparently when I am 50 I look like a Harvey Peekar (American Splendor) character. Also, the art is a little fuzzy, because I inked with the wrong pen, and when I went to erase the pencil, it smdged all over the place. Stupid crappy pen. I actually think I kinda look like a fat version of my dad. That's kinda creepy.

Speaking of comics, I am going to see a little independant motion picture tonight, based on a little known comic book. You might not have heard of it, but this is actually going to be the third installment of the series. The name of this movie...Spider-Man 3! I am posting this a couple of hours early because I am going to the midnight showing; but I am sure by the time you read this I will have already seen the movie. Hopefully I will be planning a second and third trip to be seeing the movie. Of course I am sacrificing sanity at work Friday because I am going to be all alone on my floor, so I am going to be really tired, and most likely really annoyed.

Spider-Man is always worth it.

In my defence, it's only logical to assume that people who organize things don't know what they are talking about, ever. Also, who decides what's really cold? I mean my grandma once made me and my brother wear long-johns under our clothes...IN DISNEY WORLD! Granted it was december, but about an hour into the day, my brother and I were over-heating like crazy. I mean, I went to school upstate, and I would come home on winter break and walk the dog in a t-shirt, gym shorts and sandals...and this was BEFORE my parents moved to the South. So I think I was right in second guessing the fine people of Shorashim and the JNF...right?

Probably not.

And how about that allergy commercial with the Jockey! The dude not only has a high voice, but also is tiny and has POINTY EARS!! I am pretty sure that qualifies him as an elf. I discovered a real life elf. Eat that everyone who loves fanatsy stuff way more then I do! The latin name will be Joshuos Esawsomous.

Thursday Night TV on NBC is awesome again.

Well I finally gave in. I know for years you all have been longing to know what exactly my butt looks like, as rendered by an artist. Well you ask, and I finally find a venu to deliver.

Just took this comic to the TV-14 level!! Hooray!! Well it's not officially rated, but I mean, come on! We see butts in cartoons all the time (unless it's a Disney Cartoon, then they just show vaginas...that was a Roger Rabbit joke). So enjoy my butt, and I hope it keeps you reading more.

Sorry for the delay. I could go on and make excuses, so I will. It was crazy at work all last week, and I was sick two weekends ago, and then last week was also the memorial service for my dead boss, and then I was abducted by aliens and then...ok, well the first three things are true.

But I now have ideas again so I will hopefully not get paused or delayed.

I am getting a lot of feedback from the people who "The Further Adventures of Josh" is based on, but not many others. Is this whole rehashing of my trip making sense to others? Are you all finding it interesting?

What about Stinky Foot? You guys reading/enjoying that?

I really would like to know.

So yeah, this strip is kinda lame, and drawn poorly, but I think you get the idea. And if you do, can you explain it to me, because I don't.

So yeah, they blocked livejournal at my place of business, leaving this as the only blog I can access. They say it's blocked because it falls under the category of "adult", which is bull-dookie. So today I was going crazy because I couldn't write in it or read it, and when I am home, I don't go on livejournal as much, for no real reason. It's just really really annoying. But I figured out how to get it back. First I have to convince my boss to let me post an office journal. Basically use it as an excuse to host the weekly meeting minutes on a webpage for people to access at all times, and as far back as they wish. THEN once I get his go-ahead, all I have to do is call the IT department and tell them that Pennywise the clown is scary, and also that I need to access livejournal for the company. Then I will have access at work, and all will be well with the world again. After all, it's only a matter of time before they take away my blogspot, and then I will not be able to read my comics (not just mine, but the ones I have linked in my blog which I read frequently/daily).

Ok, that's enough scheming out of me.

Apparently every time I try to draw people, I make them look like they have downsyndrome. No one has told me this, it is the conclusion I have come to myself.

So yeah, I missed two posting days, and you must be saying to yourself "what the hell happened? Did he go away? Was he sick? Did his hands fall off?" I assure you it was none of the above. What happened was a case of writers block and just being busy when I wanted to work on the comic, and lazy when I didn't. I was having trouble with where to go next with my comic, and I was stuck on an idea that wasn't going anywhere. Thanks to Aaron, however, I was put on a different diection when he gave me this wonderful idea. Don't blame him if the writing sucks and the joke is offensive, that's all me, he just guided me in this direction...so I guess in a way, if you don't like this one, it is his fault.

I'm getting pretty clever with the secret names, aren't I? Today is also the birthday of half of the name and character influence for Professor Brad Siegel. So happy birthday to Brad.

I almost didn't make this post either. I had gotten that artwork all done, but for the past few nights the internet in our apartment has been not working (for completely illogical reasons, the signal is registered as being there, and Time Warner sees that it's on, but we can't connect). Last night we got a new modem from Time Warner (well actually the other half of Prof. Brad Siegel picked it up yesterday). So we hooked it up and the internet worked again perfectly...for about an hour and a half, then it mysteriously stopped working again, just like before. So now we have to wait until NEXT SUNDAY for someone to actually come to our apartment and fix the problem, whatever that may be. It's all freakin retarded if you ask me. So I had to burn the strip to disk and then upload it at work, where I am now.

Ok, I want to make sure that everybody knows that Tooti is not based on anyone who was on the trip. She is an amalgamation (is that a word, and if so, is it spelled correctly. Probably not) of two people; This guy I used to work with back in the day, and that fat chick from the comics.

G-d I love jokes that break the fourth wall. Wait, in 2D, would it still be the fourth wall, or would it drop down a peg to the third? Think about THAT ONE over your morning coffee, or crack pipe. What ever gets you though the day. Who am I to judge?

Ok, I feel I should point out, dicluding myself, every other charcter on this trip will be based on real people, whether on the trip or not. All names will be changed (again obviously except for mine) ince my art sucks so much, even if you think you know who someone is, you most likely will be wrong. If you think that a character is yourself, you might be wrong, or you might be right, or you may be a crazy person in a rabbit costume. Whatever the case, don't just assume and hate me. First assume, then ask, then get confirmed in your assumption, then hate me.

So who wants to be a stick figure? Maybe I should have given myself hair.

Well I am off to Israel on Sunday, and I won't be back until Thursday the 18th, and I really don't think i will be doing too much of the working on strips thing while over there. Birthright trips are very scheduled and will keep me very occupied, in more then one sense.

Depending on how great the trip is, I might make a small story line about it, starting with this one. I already have my jars packed. I hope to get enough milk and honey to last the rest of the year. And then I will have another story line about me and bedbugs, which will make this comic a lot more self focused...at least more obviously.

I think I might want to turn this one into a T-Shirt, because it's funny.

Hope everyone had a good new years, and the lack of comics from me will not be too different from the last month-plus. But I will come back, I swear...

Does this make sense? It did when I planned it. I couldn't really figure out what a good Abe Lincoln punchline would be. I just thought it was so funny that the Cro-Mags would be put in charge of putting together their own play about something that happened in our past, but their chronological future and only current past. I also like the construction paper hats and "indian" bandanas. Also using the word indian. Remember when we said that in school Thanksgiving plays and songs.

Also remember "Addams Family Values"? That movie was hella funny.

I will be gone Friday and next Tuesday for the holiday. Friday is my little sister Blair's birthday. If you know her, say happy birthday to her. If you don't know her, that could be creepy. I forgot to send a card.

Sorry about the whole MIA thing last week, but I totally have excuses. First excuse, new external hard drive to which I dumped all my music for my second excuse; which is my new 80GB video iPod!!! Joy-gasm!!!(don't kill me for quoting "Batman Forever") But yeah, my third excuse is that when I transfered all my music to the external drive, I then lost all my iTunes lists. I keep my music extremely organized and I love the options of the categories you can create with the lists, and when you have close to 3,500 songs, it takes a while to get back to where you were with your collection. So that's what was up.

But I am back, and I hope you like this strip and think it's funny. I am getting a lot of feed back from people on the evolution of the strip. Of course, I am getting this feed back everywhere but in my comments section of this comic.

Well here it is, Tuesday....Ok fine, it's Wednesday...in the afternoon...making me over a day late with this post. Well you read this for free, so you have no right to complain. I however have a right to beg you to keep reading. You can blame the lateness on me being Jewish and also lazy, because this past weekend i was too busy doing nothing, and then Monday I was too busy fasting. Sure I was going to work on the art on Monday, but the only thing that came out was Link devouring a giant sandwich, which would have nothing to do with Colorado. Now that i think of it, that is pretty funny. But yeah, then I broke fast too hard and too fast, and got sick, so Tuesday I started drawing, but couldn't finish. I wanted to do something funnier, but alas, this is what I got.

The handwriting is courtesy of my left hand. I have to hand it to you lefties, what you guys do is tough. Normally with my right hand I can draw and write no problem, but with my left hand, it was a complete struggle, but gave me the desired effect of a cro-magnon man trying to write in modern english print. If you can't read the letter, it reads:

"Hello Josh

I am cold.

I don't like the hi mooving

chairs. Skiing is fun.

Pretty things? That must be a clue as to where they are going? But where could they possibly be going? Have you guessed it yet? Friday might be a reveal...but then it might not. It is up to you to keep reading, and guessing. Also, interesting how Link can't use the correct version of "high" and can't spell "moving", but has no problem spelling "pretty". I couldn't spell pretty right until some time in my early 20's, and he just learned the language. It's not fair.

It is also oddly strange that I am jealous of a ficitional character, which I created.

Well after I posted this, I found out that Blogger made all of these updates to their site, so I now I have a one strip per page layout, where you can flip back through strips. All you have to do is click the text that says "Older Posts", and keep doing that to go backwards. To go forwards, click "Newer Posts". However, i still do not have a function to jump you all the way forward or all the way back, so to go to the beginning, you still have to click the link in the archive, but you can then easily thumb through the rest via the "Newer Posts" button. Pretty soon I will be creating some backdated posts which will become fan art and information pages. If you are interested in being in the fan art page, submit me some fan art.

Well here we are, the second stop on the trip, but obviously not the last.

I am actually rather proud of this strip's art work. I never thought I could do such a close rendering of Mt. Rushmore (not I said close, not exact or perfect, just close). Roosevelt does look like commissioner Gordon from the Batman cartoon though, totally coinsidental, not purposely. The female handwriting is thanks to Karen Sassoon, an agent who works in my office. Not only is she a real estate agent, but she is also smoking hot and from Rockland County (New York, my home county), making her a triple threat, and a triple treat to work with. This is also the first strip I completely started and finished at work. Don't tell my boss.

I kinda like this new look for Dr. Bill. I know I would remember who the hell the dean at MY college was if he walked around dressed like Elton John, and had his office painted like a set piece from "Flashdance".

Well I hope I didn't lose all of you while I was away. I am going to try and keep this thing going like I did before, with updates Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but I might be dropping that back. I am actually disapointed the way this drawing came out. I don't even look like myself. I don't know what happened to my drawing abilities. Maybe it is because I am missing the tips of my fingers on my right hand (not in real life, but apparently, that's how I drew them). Do you even get what is happening with Bobby and Tiny?

All the Monkeys, Now In One Post

For those of you wondering, these are the series of monkeys I drew over the summer, in lew of drawing comics...or doing work for that matter. The first six monkeys are my "Emo-Monkeys" (the "emo" stands for emotional, not having anything to do with "emo-music", which sucks ass). Called Emo-Monkeys because each monkey expresses an emotion. The six after that are "Do-Monkeys", because, you see, they are doing things. Simple huh.

I have got to stop getting to these things so damned late. It's seriously effecting dialogue quality. So sorry if you have failed to laugh this week; at least at my comic. If you failed to laugh elsewhere, maybe it is you who has the problem, and not I. I had fun thinking of the signage for the gym. Originally I was going to have sign up tables in the background, but opted for the "less time consuming" posters. Obviously starting out with two basic, and not as funny as they could be "real" posters, then moving into the sarcastic, and then the personal joke, finally followed by the set up for the next strip. And then maybe one strip more after that, depending on what I can "fit" into the next one, and the lest one will hopefully segway into a NEW ARCH!

Also, because you can't read it, thanks to Tiny's fat head and upper body, the following sign says "Ballet: It's NOT Totally Gay."

There will be no updates next week (Tuesday OR Friday). I have decided to take a week off, mostly because I will be away through Tuesday Evening, I have no strip even penciled yet, and I could really use the time off. You can read about it more in my livejournal.

Next Morning Edit:

This is a perfect example of why you should not write dialouge when it is way past your bedtime. Sorry if the diaolgue makes no sence. The purpose of the strip is the visual joke, and hopefully you get the visual joke even though the word bubbles are actually abstructing it a bit. I also put in the arrows, for my readers who are not typically "comic readers" and don't know the proper order of reading them. Plus the arrows gave me an excuse to add color to an otherwise color lacking strip. I hope one day I give myself enough time to edit a strip where I can color the entire thing, and perhaps make some detailed background work, for "special comics".

I hope the quality of this strip in no way affects your judgement of future strips.

Now this is what I call a last minute strip. I started penciling it at work on Monday, and really didn't get past the second pannel until I got home from work on Thursday afternoon. Problem was I knew how I wanted it to start, and end, but I wasn' sure how I wanted to go about the middle bit. And I am so freaking tired today, and have been pretty much the entire week, that I don't even know if any of this strip makes sense. If it does, gat. If it's funny, even better. I finished editing the minute before posting.

Well today I am going to be seeing Conan, and then going right from the taping to the Yankee game. A fun NY day for sure. Maybe I'll find time this weekend to work on more strips. I might be taking an unscheduled hiatus. I'll let you know.

Well, welcome to the begining of my first story arch. YAY! Progression is fun.

I was thinking of ending this one with Link running from the picture of the rain, but that would involve more cells, and frankly, I am far too lazy for that.

I am back on track, sort of. I am still drawing the next strip for tuesday, but I figure I can have it done and the next strip after that started by Monday.

So what do you guys think with the comic back on track. I would like to hear your comments, especially if you are a new reader.

In case you missed it, the joke is stoned people only think about Monkeys and Robots (besides the previously mentioned other things they think about).

So what do you think about the new mascot? I like it. I can have some fun with this one. Notice I am back to the old format of minimal color. I am planning on staying that way. It's just a million times easier, and I feel like all the characters look different enouhg that I can get away with it. I am actually quite proud of this strip. IN my opinion, it's one of my best yet. I am also happy to be back to strips, although I am already behind in getting them updated.

You may also notice that I have changed the layout of the page all together. In lew of having good navigation, you can scroll down to read the previous posts, as apposed to click on the dates. I also added a few other comics to the side bar; one of note, Joe and Monkey. It's quite obsurd, and the author must be a stoner, because all he talks about are Monkey's and Robots (and sometimes ducks). It is very funny though. Had me laughing all through the office.

So here is the staff, well the ones I introduced you to anyway, in all their "staffy" glory. The text on the books is kind of hard to read regretibly, because the books that Professor Bobberton has to read are quite characteristically humorous. I also just like the dress of the staff, it's very fun, and I am pretty sure every one of us at one time or another has had a teacher dressed as one, if not all, of the teachers pictured.

Also, if you notice, the grass is astroturf, at least it is supposed to be. And watch out for Professor Anonymousshadow. He's got that fist of rage goin on.

It's evil I tells ya. EVIL! Happy apocalypse day everyone! Is anyone going to see The Omen remake? I might. I have to give someone a call to see if they want to. If only I was ready with a topical strip, and not some kind of "street scene" with the "students" of "C-M University".

I am quite proud of this piece. I think it is a fun capturing of peoples personalities, and also allows all the student characters to be seen at one moment. I wanted to get the professors in there too, but it would have been too much going on. So the professors will have their own like this on Friday.

As far as the contest, it is over, on the grounds that I have no entries, but that is ok, I picked one out from my own brain, and then resulting strip will hopefully be quite humorous. I think people will like the mascot I have chosen as well. If not, maybe if this thing picks up more momentum, I'll have another contest. I am also working on definitely moving to an actual web server, and not just this blogger garbage. I already have the domain name secured, now all I have to do is build the site, and find the time to do so. Thankfully I have a small plethora of strips to work with while trying to build.

Well this is the first of the series which I am going to call "The Time Fillers". Plus it will give you a little insite to the characters I have created thus far (and in the next few, some you haven't met yet). I originally drew all of the upcoming "strips" as one picture (including the pictures above), but then decided to separate them so (a) you can see them each in their own "spot light" and (b) so you read them in the order writen/intended. I hope you like it. I added skin color to these pictures, not because that is what I am going to be doing from now on (it is a major pain in the ass to color around the hair of the cro-mags); but rather because I felt it important for even more understanding of the characters.

I also am going a little crazy here, mostly because I am moving this weekend (seems like it's taken forever) and I haven't started packing yet. Well that is not true, I packed my comic books. Why my comic books first? Pure coincidence. I was testing box sizes of the boxes I have, and they fit into one box perfectly.

I also am still getting no responce to the contest. I am not going to give up on it, however, I am thinking I might extend the deadline, see if I can pick up more fans, and then maybe get some contest entries. Or maybe you guys who are already reading just haven't had time to sit down and enter. If that is the case, take two seconds and shoot me an email, and let me know your idea, and submit your actual entry later. Either way, just think about entering. C-M University needs a mascot now more then ever.

This one is the most popular one around my office. I like it too. It's actually an old joke written by my father for an old comic strip I had an idea for as a child. No cave men here, but that guy is practically one. Sorry for the late posting on this (for anyone who might have been checking all morning to see what I posted). As some of you may or may not know, I have been not feeling so hot all week, and today was no different, so I finally decided to use a sick day at work. Not exactly how I like to use my sick days, but it was very important that I get healthy.

Well the last of the syndicated strips. I need to bust my ass this weekend finishing up my character introductions so I have them ready to post by the time moving week hits. Otherwise, I am taking a temporary sabbatical.

I call this one "the triumphant return of Dr. Bill Deanofstudents". What a sleaze this man is...I love it. Only a school like Cro-Magnon University could have been founded by such a man. I am currently writing a story line on the actual creation of the school/finding the portal. Obviously it will feature a much younger Dr. Bill, and hopefully much hilarity. But don't expect to see that story-line any time soon.

So I actually got the spelling down on this one. Also, pretty into my defined style. There will be one more change, and that is the change of font, to a more legible and comic friendly one. Also, how about this new character huh? If you thought Dr. Bill Deanofstudents was a good name. Also, Professor Anonymousshadow will be coming back, as the arch enemy of C-M University and more specifically Dr. Bill Deanofstudents. I also wonder what the first Donald Trump lawsuit was that Dr. Bill encountered. Maybe we can have a contest for that too.

But I don't think a contest for that would work because we still have no submissions for this contest. Come on people, let's get a move on with this thing. I would like a new mascot by the 31st of May, and I would like my "fans" to pick one out for me. It can be simple, and I will add another prize to the winner, once I figure out what that could be. So write in, and be good all.

I really like this one. I am really starting to get a more defined style. Plus the leopard print on the cro-mag, who actually manages to stay on model, is such a fun touch. This is also the first strip edited entirely on The Gimp. I also downloaded a mess of new fonts before editing this one, and had some fun using them (such as the "BAM!" and the dialogue font). The only problem I have with the entire thing is the two human characters, they are off model every frame, and for some reason, I gave the guy a neck. I assure you that will never happen again. One thing I am definitely going to be working on in future scripts is keeping the characters on model; something I am sure will come with time and practice.

I also better hurry up with my updates and edits, I have one week left of syndication. Not good, especially with my moving coming up at the end of the month and all the stuff I have to do for it. I also must apologize now for the early posting. I am heading up to Buffalo for the weekend for my brother's "graduation". Next week hopefully there will be no interruptions, and posting will be timely and funny.

Well here is your first glimpse of the main campus of C-M University. This also is the first comic partially edited with The Gimp, which will be my new default editing software over Photoshop. It allows me to do some great text effects, which is the most important thing to editing background anyway. I wish I had this program for this strip, for depth on the menu and signs.

This strip also marks the first joke that came to mind when I thought up this concept. Sure it stereo-types fraternity guys, but what ever, it's not like any of them read web comics anyway, right? This one was a fairly big pain in the ass to draw with all the "details". And unfortunately my scaling is completely off. Also, you may have noticed I didn't use a single ruler or straight edge for this piece. I hate rulers, just as much as I hate rules. I'm a rebel I tells ya, a rebel without a cause, just like in that popular movie I saw.

Last week's contest is still going on, you have all month to enter, and I still have only received one entry. If you notice, the banner being hung up on the union awnning is coving up what the mascot will be. All it says visibly is "Go". Please people, if you are planning on entering, enter as soon as possible, and if you are not planning on entering, plan on entering. Just do it, it should be fun. And I am adding extra incentive; when you enter your submission, if you enter it with a picture of yourself (along with, or even as the submission), I will add you to my comic (and if you are good enough, maybe a recurring role. What better way to celebrate Cinco Di Mayo with festively painted people. That cave man doesn't seem to be too happy about it though (at least not in the first panel). The title of the strip is an homage to a personal tragedy-turned joke. This also marks my 10th strip! And in honor of it being my tenth strip, I am making the last panel a contest (that was the intention, beyond the joke). So this is for all of you to stretch your mental muscles and come up with a new mascot for C-M University! It doesn't even have to be funny, you don't even have to draw it. Just follow these simple rules:

The mascot has to be relevant (or irrelevant)
If you submit a drawing, submit it in JPG format, with an explanation of why
Feel free to submit more then one, each with it's own explanation
If you are not drawing, you can send a photographic interpretation, with explanation
In lieu of drawing or photographing, send an in-depth description of what the mascot should be and why.
Submit all entries with your name and home town, in email to SpidErichMan@aol.com, with a subject line of: "Every College Needs a Mascot, Contest"

All entries must be received before May 31st, 2006. Then (depending on how may good entries I get) I will pick the top three and allow my readers to vote on who, or what, the new mascot for C-M University will be. This should be interesting. I will feature all submissions eventually on their own separate page.

As far as the artwork in this strip, I am pretty proud of myself. Not only is it entertainingly simple, but also the characters are actually ON MODEL in the first and fifth panels. I will admit that I had some fun coloring them in, picking the official school colors (blue and silver, in case you missed it). I realize that there are plenty of spelling errors in this strip as well. I completely forgot to run my dialogue through word, and I didn't notice until posting the strip, and I am too lazy to go back and correct it now. So look for a special edition of this strip before announcing the winner of the contest. I wonder what the Mascot for the Chronic Bed-Wetters would have been anyway?

He heard "Risen King"

This one is one of my favorites, but really the joke doesn't make sense without the title. I had the idea while passing one of those Church Billboards, where it said something with "Risen King", and I thought, "Hey, Risen can sound like Raisin" and then I thought about the Futurama episode where Fry defeats the Brain-Spawn by writing a book about defeating them, and spells reason raisin. Putting all those together I whipped out my pencil and a piece of paper and got to work.

This strip also represents the first strip to have a character with a name that is not Dr. Bill Deanofstudents. Sure Paul is not as cool a name, but what you don't know is that his last name is Namey, because he was the first to have a name. I like how I managed to draw him really cool and mellow in the first panel, then all of a sudden in the second, he is drunk or something, and then in the last panel his arms are magically stick thin. Also this is the least hairy cro-magnon person EVER (both here and in real life). I figured there had to be hairless(er) people out there back then, almost as a mutation in evolution (much like blondes and redheads, that's a scientific fact, don't get all pissy). I also wanted to experiment with different noses for the cro-mags, hence the pig-nose. I actually really like the way this cave man looks, and you can expect him to stick around when the comic evolves. Same with Paul Namey.

Hello readers, it's your favorite author with the Friday update. The inspiration for this strip was actually while I was walking home for my lunch break. There was this "jock"-lookin guy who was curb furniture "shopping" with his girlfriend, and he was wearing his messenger bag around his head like the guy in the last strip. It usually tends to be these types of guys who I see do it, even though that is not how I drew it. I felt having the awkward goofy guy do it works just as well. Have you ever tried wearing a messenger bag like that? It really hurts the neck after a couple of minutes, even with not much in there. I just don't understand people sometimes; which I guess is one of the great things about C-M University, it allows us all the privilege to perhaps see why we do things as people, even though they really don't make a lick of sense. I also feel I should note that when i originally drew the cave man in this strip, he was naked with just the bag to cover his shame. But then while inking my better judgement prevaled and he got clothing.

As far as the future of Pre-Historic man, I am getting pretty fed up with the Blogger format. I think I am going to evolve beyond this and move into a more web-comic friendly venue, for a couple of reasons. One reason is the fact that I can't have buttons for my readers that allow them to quickly and easily navigate through my strip. Another reason is that I would love to have navigation pages for all you readers, such as maybe a character lists page, a general comic information page, a page with my information, and even a separate links page, where I can give other websites and web-comics the attention they deserve.

I am also thinking about changing format a little, giving my comic a more "regularity" feel by giving my characters names, and a purpose in life. I currently have 5 more syndicated strips waiting for publishing, then those are going to be followed by some character re-introduction strips. I am going to pick a few of my favorite characters I have created so far, as well as a couple of new ones to flesh it out, and those will be the characters you will read along with and get to know for the rest of this comic's existence. Doing this will also give me the opportunity to get into story lines, which I previously didn't want to do, but I have so many ideas that would take multiple strips, and this would just make it so much easier to do so.

So stay tuned here for more information on this development, and if there are any other web comic creators out there with any good (and cheap/free [preferably free]) advice, please feel free to contact me.

Ahhhh, nothing like "dirty" humor. Yeah, I don't know what happened to this girl in the last panel, but she went from cute to ugly real fast. Women are really hard to draw. I love the way the fat guy looks. I use these two in a latter strip, and I totally screw them up in that one. I'm still getting a hang of this thing. Bonus points if you can guess what movie I modeled these two people from. Extra bonus points if you can tell which characters. As far as the comedy of this strip, I am kind of disappointed, I took a cheap shot with a cheap joke. The "punchline" was the hardest part to come up with. I must have sat in front of this strip for a good 3 hours before settling on this wonderful piece of garbage. The follow up jab at my artwork was to cover or the fact that I drew the word bubble too big. I eventually stop drawing the bubbles by hand, as you will see in later strips as well. I also don't know why I gave the caveman a T-Shirt, I think it makes it confusing visually. But, this is all a learning experience.

This is also the first strip where I use a new pen for outlining. The next strip is where I believe I change my penciling methods. I am not sure.

Ok, now I am asking for fan art, because you see, I am possibly moving soon, and I don't know if my mind can handle drawing comics on top of dealing with financials AND trying to sort through my stuff into "keep" and "should have thrown away years ago" (the hardest part of moving). So if I have fan art, I can post it up here in lieu of strips, and give you credit for the job as well. I only have one, so that would only get me through one day. I definitely need more. Even if you think you have no tallent, or you can't draw, you can take fan pictures.

They Still Have Plenty Of Vegetarian Substitute

Look, it's new characters! Don't worry, they are not the only ones. Also, this is a little bit closer to what you can expect from the comic. But like a new pair of underwear, it is still molding and forming so it can hold my junk just right. I kind of like the character in the green shirt. I think I subconsciously modeled him after a kid I grew up with.

I am so far behind on my new updates. I am almost out of stock on the syndicated strips. Well I have some back up things, and maybe if I get some more fanart, I'll have those too. Speaking of fan art, I only have a few people letting me know they are out there. I need to know about the rest of you. Don't be afraid, it's ok. You Need To Know This

Damn it. I had my whole thing typed out ready to go, and then stupid thing reset on me and deleted all my text. Jerks.

Well, as I was planning on saying, this one is not one of my favorites. It's just kind of lazy, and not that funny. However, I didn't want to get rid of it, because if I put this in now, it allows me time to create this idea as being a recurring, simple joke, for those days when I just can't do it. Despite the lack of humor, I am kinda proud of myself with the artwork. I think I did a pretty good job of making my two cro-mags look similar enough that they could be twins, but not similar enough that they could have been cut and paste. This "strip" also marks the first appearance of a "real" cro-magnon person. HOORAY! You've been waiting, and I finally delivered. The look of the cro-mag evolves though my next few strips, and you also get a variety of looks, so you have a couple of different cave man characters. Maybe this also means some fan art will come "pouring" in?

On a historical note, I know that the clothes I designed for the cavemen look nothing like what scientists theorize the actual clothing looked like, but A) those clothes would be harder to draw B) these clothes are more comical and C) shut up you nerds.

I also must apologize for the latency in my updating. I can only blame my non-drowsy allergy medicine, which doesn't make me drowsy until around 9pm, when no matter what I am doing at that point, I start to pass out. I almost missed the end of 24 last night, that's how bad the drowsiness is. SO I will try to update on time regularly, but just so you know, I can't make any promises during allergy season.

Well I was leaving these notes in my comments section, but I don't know how many of you knew to look there. Well here we are week #2, and goin strong. A couple of notes; First off, I realize that my comics are riddled with spelling errors and the drawings are very crude, but I assure you, things get better as we grow. I am now using spell check. and also take a little more time to ink and edit. So look for improvement over the next couple of months (mind you that I created the comics you are reading now a couple of months ago). Why don't I fix the old ones you may ask? Well, because, that's why. That and I can pull a Lucas and release special editions later when I am too uninspired to creat new strips, I can just re-edit the old ones and make them "better". Also, I am quite interested to know who is out there reading? Do I know you? How did you hear of me? Let me know.

The thing with Dr. Bill Deanofstudents's face is that he is covered in bandages because he had the duck bill removed that he got at the end of the first strip.. I left a large gap in the timing of the interview, which ended up being filmed over a matter of weeks, due to the reconstruction surgery.

While you wait, try and imagine what things would be like for you if you went to such a school. Also, to get yourself in the laughing mood, check out the other webcomics I have linked at the side of the page. Or you can try your hand at cave drawing. Simply find some dried grass, and tie it to a small stick with a strand, or two, of fresh grass (fresh grass ties better), then find yourself berries and plants the colors you wish to paint with and mash them up real good. Then, once you have your supplies, go find an empty cave and paint it up with your own story, only you can't use words. Have fun!
